Q: Do individuals or organizations apply for membership?

A: Membership to BIIA is issued on the organization level, not individually. Agents, Brokers, and Companies can apply. If your employer is a member of BIIA, then you as an individual are automatically a BIIA member.

Q: Is my employer currently a member of BIIA?

A: Maybe. Check out the members page to see if your employer is listed. If so, you are a member of the association. If not, then join us! Here is the membership application.

Q: Do I have to first join AIIA (Alabama Independent Insurance Agents) before joining BIIA?

A: Yes. AIIA membership is a prerequisite to BIIA membership.

Q: How much does it cost to join BIIA?

A: Annual dues are $150.

Q: Do I have to have an office location in Birmingham to join BIIA?

A: No. As long as you are an AIIA member, you are eligible to join BIIA even if your office is outside of the Birmingham area.

Q: Can my company host an After Hours networking event?

A: Yes . Please contact Nancy Crowe to see when the upcoming afterhours events are scheduled and the availability of hosting the event.

Q: How much does it cost to attend an After Hours networking event?

A: The event is free for BIIA Members. All we request is that you RSVP for the event so we will know how many people will be in attendance.

Q: Can I or my company donate, volunteer, sponsor, or help with the BIIA Gala?
